Doorways Surpasses Their Goals!

A special thank you goes to Chris Gallagher at Ambertone Printing in Springfield, VA who printed promotional materials for the new pro-bono client, Doorways for Women & Families.

The WWPR team Women Who Walk the Talk raised $500 for The Help the Homeless Walkathon held Sunday, November 19. Doorways reached their goal of raising a total of $125,000 at this event.

In addition, Doorways was listed in the 2005 edition of Catalogue of Philanthropy, released in November, as a charity in which people should donate. Doorways was also selected as one of the final 75 candidates out of 250 applicants, in the category of non-profits that make a DIFFERENCE working off a budget of $2 million or less. Congratuations Doorways on your mentions and accomplishments!

WWPR's 2003-2005 Pro Bono client Safe Shores - The DC Children's Advocacy Center - is wrapping up their annual holiday assistance drive to grant the holiday wishes of children in need. They are still in need of specific items for teenagers (boys and girls), which will be wrapped and given as holidays gifts. Also, they would appreciate donations in the form of wrapping paper, clothing boxes, sticker tags and any other wrapping supplies. Help Safe Shores wrap the donated presents at a Wrapping Party on Wednesday, December 14 from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
