Welcome,

November 2005 WWPR E-Newsletter

In this Issue:

Dear WWPR Supporter,

We would like to thank everyone for the hard work and support that has gone in to planning our upcoming event, the Washington PR Woman of the Year luncheon. Planning this annual event gave us the opportunity to talk to so many members and PR professionals throughout the year and share with them the opportunity to be involved in recognizing our Washington PR Woman of the Year and nominees. We have enjoyed working with you all.

Every year we all come together to celebrate the hard work of three extraordinary women and to spend time with friends. This year’s event has a full agenda and something for everyone. In addition to the announcement of the Washington PR Woman of the Year, Eleanor Clift will be the keynote speaker. We will also have our annual raffle of donated items with a percentage of the proceeds going to our Pro Bono client, Safe Shores, the DC Child Advocacy Center. Full details of this event including RSVP information are below. We look forward to seeing you there.

Greater Washington Board of Trade Shares Re-Branding Strategy

On October 19th, WWPR hosted a professional development seminar focused on the re-branding of the Greater Washington Board of Trade. The session, delivered by Marie L. Tibor, vice president of communications, highlighted best practices gathered by the Board of Trade in its re-branding process of three entities: Greater Washington Board of Trade, Greater Washington Initiative and The Potomac Conference. Together – these three organizations comprise a “regional chamber of commerce” in the Washington, DC area, as described by Tibor.

The re-branding campaign served to clarify their identity and connect these three affiliate organizations. The Board of Trade’s re-branding strategies focused on revamping the logo, marketing materials, ads, and tagline, “Growing Business. Building Community.”

The main goal of the Board of Trade is to make the region a better place to work and live, and creating a new image will enable them to more effectively reach audiences and communicate their primary function.
